College is stressful, right? College students should be referred to as magicians due to their impeccable ability to magically balance some, if not all of the following: homework, tests, scholarship applications, part-time jobs, internships, volunteer work, fraternities/sororities, boyfriends/girlfriends, family, children, church, etc. Oh, I forgot to mention, don’t forget to eat and sleep in between if you can.
Knowing this, most college students (including me) wish they could snap their fingers and say, “Abracadabra! Stress, be gone!” Sadly, this is not reality. Reality is staying up late, working hard, and busting your “you know what” to reach your personal goals. That is why you should not fear the “P” word and by “P” word, I am referring to the dreaded word Procrastinate.
How often have you heard the saying “Do not Procrastinate!” If you are like me, this saying has echoed endlessly throughout your life. My advice to you, regardless, is to stop fighting the “P” word and procrastinate BUT do it intelligently! Everyone needs a break from time to time so why not procrastinate to give your mind a break? Now, if you have an assignment due in two hours, do not procrastinate. But if you don’t have an assignment due until three days from now, then procrastinate some! Put in your favorite movie, grab a bag of popcorn, and enjoy the simple luxuries of procrastination.
